AdriAdapt knowledge platform on climate change adaptation has been completed and is now available at www.adriadapt.eu. The platform is highly relevant for marine spatial planning (MSP), since many elaborated options on how to adapt to impacts of climate change are directly linked to MSP implementation, notably in terms of blue economy (such as risk-based zoning and siting for aquaculture or diversification of fisheries and aquaculture), protection of the marine environment (protection and restoration of Posidonia oceanica meadows; establishment of marine protected areas; etc.) and land-sea interactions (e.g. coastal setback zones).
Apart from more than 40 climate change adaptation options, the platform includes: integrated adaptation planning tool (step-by-step guide); 11 case studies; climatic information for the Adriatic region; several thematic guidelines, handbooks and guides for adaptation – from financing adaptation to enhancing coastal resilience; and more than 50 different videos – from short ones (5–10 minutes) to full trainings and conferences.
This online platform came out of the EU Interreg AdriAdapt project, and although it serves primarily as an inspiration for climate action to Adriatic region, its contents are relevant and have potential to be applied anywhere else in the world. All platform materials are available in English, Italian and Croatian.
We invite you to use this platform and get involved into enhancing coastal resilience through climate action!
