The virtual training on MSP organized by PAP / RAC met with great success

Dec 17, 2021

Always attentive to the needs of Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention, PAP/RAC organized a virtual training on MSP for representatives of administrations or public institutions involved and / or interested in MSP throughout the Mediterranean basin. Participants were nominated by PAP/RAC focal points of  Mediterranean countries. The objective of this training was to provide tools to implement MSP at the country level.

The training consisted of two online workshops and a set of lectures on the MedOpen platform. It started on November 17, 2021 with the opening seminar, which brought together more than sixty participants. This first workshop focused in particular on maritime spatial planning and the blue economy, two closely related concepts. Following this, the participants had four weeks to study the MedOpen courses and take the tests demonstrating the acquisition of their skills. Finally, a second workshop was organized on the themes of governance, the ecosystem approach, climate change and land-sea interactions.
